People Don't Buy Products First — They Buy You

Had a bit of a wake-up call.

A few years back, I was deep in a client pitch. I came in with our features, pricing, ROI, the usual.

Midway through, the client cut in:

We already know what you offer. Tell us why you.

That hit me like a brick. I realized I wasn't selling me.

I was selling a checklist. And in that moment, it clicked:

People don't buy the product first. They buy the person behind it.

My first thought: "I've been playing the wrong game."

That one line changed how I pitch, how I connect, how I close.

So I made a shift.

Three moves that changed everything

1. Sell you, not just your service. Your story, your values, your vibe — that's what builds connection.

2. Be consistent, everywhere. Same energy in every room. Trust scales when you're predictable.

3. Lead with empathy. Close with clarity. Know their pain before you talk price. Solve first, sell second.

The more I leaned into this, the more clients saw me as a partner, not a vendor.

And that's when the real growth started.

Because in 2026 and beyond — people don't just buy what you do.

They buy who you are when you show up.
